The Frelon is called an advanced combat drone because it is actually a stupid warbot with limited capabilities. Viewed as a drone, however, it is rather sophisticated. The robot brain provides limited intelligence, and allows the operator to handle multiple drones simultaneously.
Designed as an advance scout or backup for personnel in low-level skirmishes, the Frelon has seen wide use among mercenaries or small planetary armies.
The drone mounts a built-in gauss rifle with 100 rounds, as well as a backup laser weapon. It is not capable of independent action, but can be given very detailed orders in form of command programming objects. Ammunition and/or fuel can be extended by mounting extra modules on the side of the drone, but this is at the cost of speed and acceleration.
